Therapeutic Yoga offers a gentle and compassionate approach to asana (yoga poses), pranayama (breath
awareness), mudra (hand positions) and relaxation techniques that work together to bring greater health and
freedom to the physical, energetic, and mental-emotional levels of being. Our busy lifestyles often leave us in a
state of heightened stress with little to no refuge. During this workshop you will learn techniques that you can
incorporate into your practice to alleviate the symptoms of emotional, digestive, physical and mental stress.
- April 2: Emotional Stress - Our emotions are often a barometer to our level of stress. During the first
session you will learn techniques to help alleviate irritability, depression, and anxiety including mild
inversions, pranayama and mudras that leave you feeling calm and centered.
- April 9: Digestive Stress - The digestive system is often affected by long-tern stress levels. During this
session you will learn simple exercises that can calm digestive upset such as abdominal massage, kriyas,
mudras and gentle twists.
- April 16: Physical Stress - Extended periods of stress can either make us feel wired or exhausted. In this
session we will begin with gentle repetitive movements to burn off excess nervous energy, followed by
restorative poses, pranayama and mudras to allow for complete physical relaxation and restoration.
- April 23: Mental Stress - The mind can sometimes turn against us in times of high stress. Circular thoughts
and worrying prevent sleep and lead to increased symptoms of stress. During our final session, you will learn
techniques that you can use to calm the mind including pranayama, mudras and we will end with a yoga nidra
session which will be available for downloading after the class.

allowing them to listen to their bodies in new ways that can have a grounding and healing affect on the body and
emotions.
