What is Ayurveda? Ayurveda means “Science of Life” and teaches us the art of healthy living. Ayurvedic
principles are very ancient and time tested and are just as applicable today in our lives as they were when
they were originally recorded in India over 5,000 years ago. Ayurveda defines health “not as an absence of
disease; but a state of physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.”
Ayurveda recognizes five elements, i.e. space, air, fire, water and earth, and the three main energies (also
known as Vata, Pitta and Kapha Doshas) that are derived from these elements. These energies combine in
limitless ways to create a unique combination of physical, mental and emotional characteristics – resulting
in our individual constitution.
An imbalance of the Doshas caused by stress, environmental factors and improper diet/lifestyle can result
in health problems. Ayurveda uses proper diet, balanced lifestyle and herbs to bring these disturbed
Doshas back to their natural state and restores health.
Cancellations before August 6 will be refunded less a $15 administration fee. No refunds for
cancellations on/after September 7.
