Join Baxter for this long over-due return of his Back and Spine workshop. Whether you have suffered from
low, middle or upper back troubles in the past, or just want to avoid them in the future, this class is for
you. In addition to looking at some of the yoga postures that are particularly helpful in strengthening and
lengthening the spine, we'll also look at some of the anatomy of the spine and sacrum to get a better
understanding of how they work. There will also be time for some discussion of related issues. This
workshop is also appropriate for all practitioners including teacher trainees and new teachers looking for
ways of working with their students with back issues.
Baxter Bell, MD, RYT500 is co-director of the Piedmont Yoga Studio's Advanced Studies Program. He
teaches a weekly therapeutic yoga class for students with back issues at PYS on Monday’s at 7:45pm.
Baxter teaches locally and leads workshops and retreats around the US and internationally. He also
maintains a part-time complementary medical practice focusing on medical acupuncture. Check out his
DVD “Yoga for Stress” produced by Yoga Journal and learn more about his work at www.bellyoga.info.
Students unsure about the appropriateness of the workshop can contact Baxter with questions at
baxbellmd@hotmail.com.
Cancellations before August 30 will be refunded less a $15 administration fee. No refunds for
cancellations on/after September 1.
