Our busy lifestyles often leave us in a state of heightened stress with little to no refuge. During this workshop you will learn therapeutic yogic techniques that you can incorporate into your daily life to alleviate the symptoms of stress on the emotions, mind, digestion and body.
October 1: Emotional Stress - Our emotions are a barometer of our stress levels and can become easily overwhelmed by the frustrations of daily life. During the first session, learn how to counteract irritability, depression, and anxiety with mild inversions, pranayama (breath control), and mudras (hand gestures) that bring about a feeling of calm.
October 8: Digestive Stress - The fire of our digestive systems can be easily unbalanced by long-term stress. Learn to recognize the symptoms of digestive stress and how to balance the fire in the belly with gentle twists, kriyas (cleansing techniques), and mudras.
October 15: Physical Stress - Extended periods of stress can either make us feel tired or wired. We will begin this session with repetitive movements to burn off excess nervous energy followed by restorative poses, pranayama, and mudras to allow for complete physical relaxation & restoration.
October 22: Mental Stress - Circular thoughts and worrying can trap the mind in a negative loop, making stress even harder to overcome. During our final session, learn how to recognize this negative pattern and calm your mind. We will close with a Yoga Nidra session that will be available for downloading and listening to at home.
