Yoga styles are often determined by the origins of the practice, the teacher, or the branch of the practice. For example, Bikram Choudhury is one of the most well-known yoga teacher and his yoga is known as Ashtanga.

Yoga Styles for Different Aspects of our Body

These are some examples of yoga styles if you want to focus on different aspects of your body, whichever style you will do, it will still improve your health; 

  • Hatha: Physical Aspects – Hatha yoga focuses on physical aspects, such as building strength, flexibility, and breathing.
  • Raja: Mental Aspects – Raja focuses on mental aspects, such as building concentration, focusing, and patience.
  • Sivananda: Spirituality – Sivananda focuses on spirituality, such as meditation and relaxation.
  • Vinyasa: Sequencing – Vinyasa is a type of yoga that focuses on the sequencing of poses to get a certain benefit. For example, you will do a pose for a certain amount of time and then change to the next pose in sequence.
